Come grow with us!

The Community Garden at Peace offers everyone the opportunity to build friendships, grow nutritious produce, and celebrate good care of our earth! This is an organic project, with only natural pest deterrents and compost used. Organically grown food is saturated with vitamins and minerals, and we offer workshops and guidance on growing, preparing and enjoying the best of natural food.

No Cost! Everyone Welcome!

  • Free seed
  • Free soil and plots (10' X 20')
  • Free tools to use
  • Compost on site
  • Storage on site
  • Workshops and expert guidance
  • Garden library with videos
  • Participant managed

Site development includes a playground and picnic area, as well as a butterfly garden, children's garden and a section for growing medicinal herbs. Workshops on the preparation, use and benefits of these are held though out the year.

The Peace Community Garden is a joint venture project made possible through a Community Health Promotions Fund Grant and the partnership of the Metro Food Bank of Halifax.
